Assistant professor
After obtaining my PhD from the University of Aberdeen (UK) in 2017 in Microbiology, I joined the Department of Biological Sciences as an assistant professor. Since then, I have been engaged in teaching both undergraduates and postgraduates in subject areas pertaining to microbiology, including basics of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cell biology, metabolism, genetics, microscopy, immunology, and pathogenesis.
I am actively involved in concurrent research projects in the area of host-pathogen interactions, focusing specifically on fungal pathogens of medical importance and their subversion of the host's immune response.
Furthermore, I am an active member of several committees at departmental and faculty level.
