Hussain Bahbahani is an associate professor of genetics at Kuwait University. Dr. Bahbahani Bachelor’s degree in Genetics was obtained from Aberdeen University in 2008. After completing his MSc degree from the University of Newcastle in 2009, he obtained his PhD degree at the University of Nottingham specializing in animal population genetics in 2015.  His research interest is focused on analyzing the whole genome of different livestock species, such as camel, cattle, and sheep for signatures of natural selection associated with environmental adaptation. He also has a great interest in assessing the genetic diversity of these species using different genomic tools.
